Putin accuses the West: It is trying to break up and plunder Russia

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has once again attacked the West in a speech ahead of the Russian presidential election campaign. Putin accused the US and other Western countries of trying to break up and plunder Russia and that his army was fighting for the freedom not only of Russia but of the whole world.

He emphasized that any foreign attempt to cause unrest within Russia will be treated as a terrorist act and that there will be a proportional response from Moscow.

" In principle, the West does not need such a large and multinational country as Russia. Our diversity and unity of cultures, traditions, languages, ethnicities simply does not fit into the logic of Western racists and colonizers, in their cruel scheme of total depersonalization , of division, oppression and exploitation. So they are recycling the same old narrative again: Russia is a prison of nations and the Russians themselves are a nation of slaves. We have heard this many times over the centuries. We have also heard that Russia, as it seems, now it needs to be decolonized.

In reality, what do they want? In fact, they want to destroy and plunder Russia. If they cannot do this by force, then they will try to sow discord. We consider any foreign intervention and provocation aimed at causing inter-ethnic or inter-religious conflicts as aggressive actions against our country and as an attempt to challenge Russia with terrorism and extremism as a means of fighting us. We will respond proportionately ," he said in a speech to Russia's People's Assembly broadcast worldwide via live video.

The Russian president also accused Western elites of making Russophobia and neo-Nazism their official ideology.

Today , Russophobia, other forms of racism and neo-Nazism have practically become the official ideology of the Western ruling elites. These policies are directed not only against Russians, but against all peoples of Russia - Tatars, Chechens, Avars, Tuvins, Bashkirs, Buryats, Yakuts, Ossetians, Jews, Ingush, Maras and Altaians. There are many of us. I will not name all of them now, but it is directed against all peoples of Russia ," he said.
