Ukraine has reacted after the fall of President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. Foreign Minister Andrii Sibiha has declared that dictators who rely on Russian President Vladimir Putin are doomed to fall, while expressing support for the "Syrian people".
"Assad has fallen. This happened and will always happen with dictators who bet on (Russian President Vladimir) Putin. He always betrays those who rely on him ," the head of Ukrainian diplomacy said, adding that Kiev wanted "to pave the way for the restoration of relations (with Syria) in the future", says the reaction of the ministry in "X".
Assad fled the country after the rebellion by armed groups and his whereabouts are still unknown. His regime has now lost total control over the country, while the rebels now control the capital as well.
