The ceremony begins in Paris, Macron welcomes the guests...
The reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral has brought world leaders together. The ceremony for its reopening has started in Paris, after the fire of 5 years ago that destroyed most of it. But while a very large ceremony was planned outside the cathedral, the situation changed in the last minutes due to the rain.
President Emmanuel Macron's speech, originally planned outside, also out of respect for the secular nature of the state and the sacred character of the cathedral, was instead held inside, writes "Corriere Della Sera".
"To transmit and to hope: this is the meaning of our work", continued the French president, underlining the desire to "continue the legend of the centuries".

"For 5 years every man, every woman who worked here, every gesture from every distant corner of the world was necessary", underlined Macron, insisting on the importance of "the brotherhood of a people, of universal fraternity and mutual help".
The concert of the artists planned for tonight was recorded yesterday evening and broadcasted tonight, while there was no performance in the square. Among the artists present are Clara Luciani, Vianney, Garou and Pharrell Williams, as well as Chinese virtuoso pianist Lang Lang, South African soprano Pretty Yende and French-Swiss tenor Benjamin Bernheim.

Before the ceremony, President Macron had a one-on-one meeting with President Trump and then a trilateral meeting with Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky.

A video will then be shown showing the events following the April 15, 2019 fire, the cause of which has never been determined. The film will pay tribute to the saviors of Notre-Dame and the workers and craftsmen who renovated it. A text by French poet Louis Aragon will then be read by Comédie-Française actor Éric Ruf, followed by a "musical moment" with strings by brothers Renaud and Gautier Capuçon.
