The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, is speaking at Notre-Dame, expressing his gratitude to the nation for the restoration of the cathedral.
He said that "we had the will, the hope, the courage" to rebuild Notre-Dame and make it more beautiful than ever.
Macron went on to say that the cathedral tells us "that our dreams - even the wildest of them - are only possible if everyone commits to it".
He added that Notre-Dame reminds us that "we are carrying on the legacy of something greater than ourselves."
"For 5 years every man, every woman who worked here, every gesture from every distant corner of the world was necessary", underlined Macron, insisting on the importance of "the brotherhood of a people, of universal fraternity and mutual help".
