NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has ironized Moscow's reactions after US President Donald Trump's statement that Russia is a "paper tiger".
"He who is gold, he doesn't have to emphasize that he is gold, everyone will understand it themselves. This shows a lot of weakness on the Russian side. It is clear that President Trump hit the mark," Rutte told Fox News.
Moscow's reactions came after Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on Trump's words by saying that Russia is gold, not a tiger, and that "there is no such thing as paper gold."
Peskov also responded to Trump's claim that Ukraine could take back all occupied territory, stressing that Russian forces are advancing on all fronts and that the dynamics of the war are visible.
He added that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, without adequate preparation, would be simply a propaganda show doomed to premature failure.
