US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said he expects the war between the US and Iran to end within the "coming weeks." He added that the end of the conflict could lead to a recovery in oil supplies and a reduction in energy costs.
In an interview with ABC's "This Week" show, Wright said the conflict could end relatively quickly.
"I believe this war will probably end in the coming weeks. It could happen even sooner than that. After it ends, we will see a recovery in supply and a decline in prices," he said.
The minister's statement comes at a time when global energy markets are carefully monitoring developments in the Middle East, due to the potential impact of the conflict on oil production and supply.
