American Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is in Israel, to express US support for the people in these difficult moments. Austin said US support for the Israeli people is unwavering as he expressed solidarity with the families of the victims.
" Now is not the time for neutrality or for making excuses for the unforgivable. There is never any excuse for terrorism, and that is especially true after this attack by Hamas. Hamas does not speak for the Palestinian people. The world has just witnessed a great evil ," he said, comparing Hamas to the Islamic State.
The US Secretary of Defense assured Israel that the US will provide it with everything it needs. Citing phone conversations between Joe Biden and Benjamin Netanyahu, he emphasized that democracies do not target civilians.
" Democracies like ours are stronger and safer when we respect the laws of war. Hamas attacked at a time of global challenges, but the US is the most powerful country in the world ," said US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
As he emphasized the fact that the US will continue to support both Ukraine and Israel.
