The United States has warned Iran of major consequences if the killings of protesters continue.
"The president and his team have communicated to the Iranian regime that if the killings continue, there will be serious consequences ," said press secretary Caroline Leavitt.
She added that Donald Trump was told by Iran that the killings and executions would stop. Leavitt added that 800 Iranian executions scheduled to take place yesterday were stopped.
A reporter also asked Leavitt about an apparent Iranian state television broadcast that appeared to be a threat to Trump. She responded by saying she had not seen such a thing.
" To be honest with you, I haven't seen that. We'll review it and let the president and his national security team review that footage to ensure its legitimacy ," she said.
