US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth declares that military operations will intensify and that Washington has the capabilities and weapons to continue the conflict "for as long as necessary."
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the United States has just launched the first phase of military operations against Iran and warned that the combat power used so far represents only a fraction of the real US capabilities.
During a public statement, Hegseth said that the war in Iran "has just begun" and stressed that American and Israeli forces will significantly increase the intensity of military operations in the future.
He stated that Washington and Tel Aviv will deploy multiple times the military capabilities that have been used so far. According to him, the United States has the weapons, political authorization and will to continue the operation for a long period.
"We have only just begun to fight. We will use many times our current capabilities. The United States has the ammunition, the authority, and the will to continue this campaign for as long as necessary," Hegseth declared.
The Pentagon chief's statement comes at a time when the conflict between the US, Israel and Iran is entering a new phase of military escalation. Air and missile operations carried out in recent days have hit numerous military targets and strategic infrastructure inside Iranian territory.
The signal given by the Pentagon suggests that the US administration is preparing for a longer military campaign in the region, with a higher operational intensity and greater involvement of American and Israeli combat capabilities.
