Donald Trump's feud with Elon Musk over the US president's budget proposal appears to be reaching an extreme.
In the latest spat between them, Musk revealed the name of the party that "will be formed the next day" if the budget is passed, and Trump responded with the threat that "maybe he (Musk) should go home to South Africa."
Musk was the first to add fuel to the fire by accusing the Trump administration of "irrational spending" that is pushing the debt limit to a record $5 trillion.
Once again, he spoke of the need to create a new party that "truly cares about the people."
A short time later, he made his intentions even clearer, writing: “If this crazy spending bill passes, the American Party will be founded the next day. Our country needs an alternative to the one-party Democratic-Republican system so that the people can truly have a VOICE.”
At the same time, he "embedded" in his X account the result of a survey he had conducted through the same platform, according to which 80% are in favor of creating a new party in the US. "The voice of the people is the voice of God," Musk wrote.
"Maybe he should go home to South Africa"
A little later, Donald Trump's new response came via social media, who, with his post on Truth Social, "showed the South African tycoon the exit door" from the US, writing, among other things, "Elon should probably close his business and return to his homeland, South Africa."
According to Trump's post, "Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly endorsed me for president, that I was strongly against mandatory electric cars. It's ridiculous and has always been a big part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to buy one." "Elon can get more subsidies than any other person in history, and without subsidies, Elon should probably close his business and go back to his homeland, South Africa. There will be no more rocket launches, satellites, or electric car production, and our country will save a fortune. Maybe we should ask DOGE to seriously consider this? IT WILL SAVE A LOT OF MONEY!!!" the US president concluded his post.
