The Israeli and US surgical strike on Tehran, which dismantled Iran's leadership team by killing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and at least 40 other senior regime officials, was not accidental, but the result of long-term preparation, largely by the Israelis in collaboration with US intelligence services.
Gradually, more and more details are coming to light, but the point that worries public opinion is how Iran's leaders, who are not characterized by naivety or spontaneity, found themselves gathered "in plain sight" in broad daylight.
The answer is provided by an article in the German newspaper Bild.
Israel deceived the leaders of the Iranian regime, who probably did not believe that an attack would occur on Saturday.
An Israeli military (IDF) spokesman revealed on Wednesday that, due to political developments, the military had already realized three weeks before the start of the war "that we were heading towards a new conflict" and the attack would take place on Saturday, but no indication would be revealed to the public.
Although the US had concentrated its forces in the Middle East and speculation was circulating about a possible attack, the maximum possible effect of surprise had to be created.

“The IDF and the US conducted a psychological operation to surprise Iran,” according to the Israeli military. There appear to have been concerns that the apparent movements Friday evening around the central military complex in Tel Aviv could alert the public, and therefore Iran, to an imminent operation.
"On the Friday of the attack, the IDF deliberately gave the impression that the army would withdraw for the weekend. We published photographs and information suggesting that IDF personnel and senior leadership were returning home for Shabbat dinner," when the holy day of rest begins in Israel.
Senior generals would ostentatiously leave the General Staff headquarters in central Tel Aviv and go to their families, or give the impression that they were going.

Late at night they returned discreetly, some masked, to headquarters to coordinate the attack against the mullahs' regime in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Iranian leaders did not anticipate the attack and felt safe enough to gather in central Tehran. /Pamphlet/
