Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has once again criticized the revision of the budget proposed by the European Commission during the preparatory work before the European Council scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
Through a post on "Twitter", he described as inappropriate the idea of sending money to Ukraine again when the EU budget is currently in trouble. He also cast doubt on how these funds are being used by Kiev, for which there is no detailed report on where and how they are being used.
" It is not acceptable that Brussels wants to give 50 billion euros of additional aid to Ukraine, while we know nothing about the use of EU funds sent since the beginning of the war. Brussels is seeking new resources from member states to cover the deficit in the EU budget due to rising interest rates, while continuing to withhold funds from Hungary and Poland from joint borrowing. This is unacceptable. Instead of stopping illegal migration, Brussels wants to spend billions more on settling illegal immigrants in Europe. In addition to all this, the Commission would receive additional billions of euros from member states to increase the salaries of Brussels bureaucrats ," he writes.
