57-year-old Vance Boelter has been identified by police as the suspect in the shooting of two Minnesota officers.
Officer Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were shot to death in their home in Brooklyn Park while Senator John Hoffman and his wife were shot in their home in Champlin.
Officials say the two have recovered from the surgery and are in stable condition. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said they are cautious and optimistic they will survive.
Authorities are still searching for the shooter, 57-year-old Vance Boelter. He was twice appointed by Governor Tim Walz as the private sector representative on the governor's workforce council, in 2016 and 2019, with terms expiring in 2023.
The suspect dressed as a police officer at the time of the attack and had a vehicle with emergency lights and sirens. Inside the vehicle, authorities found a list of the names of lawmakers he planned to kill, as well as documents with the words "No Kings" written on them.
