Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has praised Pakistan's role in efforts to reduce tensions, while this country continues to mediate in communications between Tehran and Washington.
During a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for Iran's support. According to his office, he thanked the "support and solidarity of the Muslim people of Pakistan with Iran."
Talks to stop the escalation of the US-Israeli conflict continue, with Pakistan playing a key role in conveying messages between the parties. According to sources, Sharif and Pezeshkian held a phone call that lasted about an hour.
The Iranian president also stressed the importance of international efforts to stop the war. He praised the "laudable efforts of several friendly and neighboring countries, including Pakistan, to stop the imposed war."
On the other hand, the Pakistani prime minister reiterated his stance against military action against Iran, especially after the recent Israeli attacks on economic infrastructure in Ahvaz and Isfahan.
Meanwhile, Pezeshkian has also issued a strong warning about any possible attack on Iran. In a public reaction, he said: "We have said many times that Iran does not carry out preemptive attacks, but we will retaliate strongly if our infrastructure or economic centers are targeted."
The president also addressed the countries of the region with a direct message: "If you want development and security, do not let our enemies wage war from your lands."
