Tehran partially reopens Hormuz: We are allowing more ships to pass through the

Iran has announced that more ships can now pass through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most strategic sea lanes, under the coordination of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval forces. The opening comes after a period of high tensions and restrictions on maritime traffic.

According to Iranian state broadcaster, more than 30 ships have been authorized to pass through the canal in the past 24 hours. The Tasnim news agency reported that “several Chinese ships” have received specific transit permits. Their passage began on Wednesday evening, following an understanding on new Iranian protocols.

The authorization for the passage of several ships shows that many countries have accepted the new legal protocols introduced by Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps naval forces in this region and in the Strait of Hormuz.

These protocols include the use of designated corridors, advance notification, and coordination with Iranian authorities.

The US, on the other hand, has warned ships using the Strait not to accept Iran's conditions as they could face US sanctions.
