
An 18-year-old John Honore has been sentenced to life in prison after being accused of murdering a 73-year-old woman named Linda Frickey.
In March 2022, Linda Frickey was parking her car outside a business in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans when she was carjacked by four teenagers. She was dragged a block down the street where she was.
At the time, foreign media reported that the 73-year-old woman suffered a rupture of the aorta, a fracture of the clavicle, ribs and vertebrae, and as a result died in the middle of the road, naked.
The young man was found guilty of murdering the elderly woman, while in a letter addressed to the family he said that he made the biggest mistake of his life.

While Honore admitted to murder, the three girls who were involved were charged with attempted murder and will only serve 15 years in prison after pleading guilty.
According to foreign media, Honore may have a chance at parole in 25 years because he was 17, a minor, when he killed Frickey.
