The 65-year-old woman was found dead in the bathroom of the business where she worked, where she had entered to protect herself, but it was in vain. The business was reportedly engulfed in flames from a burning pine tree.
Nadia, who was originally from Moldova, had been working at the Patima Chalandriu factory for more than 20 years.
Her colleagues, with tears in their eyes, left some white flowers on the sidewalks to say goodbye to the hardworking and always smiling Nadia who left behind two children.
"I saw the fire, and I called Nadia on the phone and she told me 'Thana is burning, hang up.' She was scared..." , said one of her colleagues, writes Protothema .
The unfortunate woman did not manage to get out of the business, which is completely destroyed. All the equipment has melted, while a part of it has collapsed from the ceiling.
Throughout the night, the owner's son with the firemen and some employees were looking for the unfortunate woman, who was found trapped in the toilet of the workshop. The day she died, the 65-year-old woman was about to start her vacation.
"He called me and told me that "it's on fire". I said to her 'what are you doing there' and then the line went dead.' - said the owner of the factory.
From that moment the line was disconnected and he didn't know what had happened until he was found in the bathroom engulfed in flames.
