Another attack has been reported in the area of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which has been informed by Iranian authorities of the latest incident.
This attack marks the third such incident within a period of ten days, adding to concerns about the security of nuclear infrastructure in a climate of growing tension in the region.
According to officials in Tehran, the reactor that is currently in operation has not suffered any damage and no radioactive leaks have been recorded. According to reports, the plant continues to operate normally.
However, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has warned of the serious risks that any strike on an active nuclear facility could pose. He has called on the parties involved to show "maximum military restraint."
According to him, damage to a functioning reactor could cause serious radiological consequences, endangering public safety and the environment, at a time when military activities near such facilities are increasing.
