Another incident in the US, Border Patrol in Arizona seriously injures a person;

The number of incidents of civilians being injured or killed by US border authorities continues to rise. A person was seriously injured today in the US after being shot during an incident involving the United States Border Patrol in Arizona.

The shooting happened around 7:30 a.m. local time near mile marker 15 on West Arivaca Road. The location of the incident is just over 50 miles southwest of the city of Tucson. The injured person was airlifted to the hospital in serious condition.

The identity of the person shot has not been released and the circumstances leading up to the shooting are not yet clear. However, new details are expected to emerge in the coming hours.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department said it responded to a shooting involving Border Patrol in Arivaca, an unincorporated community in the southern part of the state about 10 miles north of the border with Mexico.

"We are working in coordination with the FBI Phoenix-Tucson Office and U.S. Customs and Border Protection," the sheriff's department wrote on social media.

The FBI requested the assistance of the Pima County Sheriff's Department to lead the use-of-force investigation involving the agent and is conducting a parallel investigation, the department said in a press release.

" We ask the community to remain patient and understanding as this investigation moves forward. We will fully review all aspects of the incident; however, these investigations are complex and take time ," the department stated.

What's worth noting is the fact that the Arizona shooting comes after federal immigration officers shot and killed two people in Minneapolis this month: Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse who treated veterans, and Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old poet and mother of three.

The killing of the 37-year-old a few days ago has caused major unrest in Minneapolis with citizens protesting and demanding the removal of ICE.
