Six people, including four children, lost their lives in the fire that broke out in the Salajka neighborhood in Novi Sad, Serbia, last night, the Minister of the Interior of this country, Ivica Dacic, announced.
"It is assumed that they were members of the family that lived at that address," Dacic said, adding that the children who died were between two and seven years old.
Members of the Administration for Emergency Situations of Serbia and firefighters put out the fire, while the police and the public prosecutor started investigations at the scene.
As Dacic said, the fire is suspected to have been caused by a scooter that was connected to the electrical network.
"The bodies of the victims have been sent to the Forensic Medicine Center for autopsy, while members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are working intensively to clarify all the circumstances of this tragic event," said Daçiç./REL
