
The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic, has scheduled an extraordinary session of the National Security Council for Friday, January 3, on the occasion of yesterday's tragic events in Cetinje where 12 people were killed and 4 others were injured.
Supreme state prosecutor Milorad Markovic and special chief prosecutor Vladimir Novovic will also participate in the session by invitation.
During the session , the Council will focus on the main challenges in detecting and seizing illegal weapons, as well as propose a series of measures aimed at fighting crime and protecting citizens. The agenda will also include an initiative for the implementation of urgent actions in all the cities of the country. Montenegro with the aim of discovering and confiscating illegal weapons, as well as announcing the public competition for the recruitment of new police officers in order to strengthen the capacities of security institutions" , the Government announces.
It was further emphasized that the current level of implementation of legal provisions will be reviewed, with special emphasis on the necessity of adopting the new Law on Arms. More rigorous controls and stricter conditions for the granting of permits for the possession and possession of small arms are planned.
The National Security Council recalls that the protection of life and property is its fundamental obligation
The start of tomorrow's session is at 14:00, after which "conclusions and further steps in the direction of protecting citizens' security will be announced".
