A tragic event has occurred in Venice, where a 20-year-old man lost his life after drowning in the waters near the San Polo area in Venice, Italy.
According to reports, the young man was part of a group of three people who ended up in the water. Two of them managed to be rescued by a boat passing nearby, while the 20-year-old never surfaced.
The victim's body was found this morning near the Guardia di Finanza barracks. Firefighters intervened at around 05:30, immediately launching a search and rescue operation.
Two lagoon fire units from Dorsoduro, supported by regional divers, were deployed to the scene, carrying out an intensive search of the area. At around 07:15, the young man's body was located and pulled from the water.
Carabinieri and emergency medical teams also participated in the operation. Authorities have launched investigations to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
