US attack on Venezuela scares Serbs, Vučić talks about war and attacks Albania and Kosovo
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has been plunged into political and military panic, immediately after the US intervention in Venezuela, where the Maduro regime was targeted by Washington as a terrorist organization with links to international drug trafficking. At an extraordinary meeting of the National Security Council, Vučić warned that "the old world order is collapsing" and that "in this world only the right of the strongest works."
" Today, international rules no longer apply. We must accept that the UN Charter no longer functions. After the US action in Venezuela, the world is governed only by the principle of force - whoever is stronger suppresses the weaker ," Vučić declared.
He noted that the reaction of EU representatives to developments in Venezuela was lukewarm, adding that they pursue their own petty interests and "are afraid of what will happen to Greenland."
The Serbian president also stressed that Serbia is concerned about the supply of weapons to security institutions in Kosovo, which he said is in violation of the UN Charter. "There is a noticeable acceleration of the arming of Pristina, especially with the support of Turkey," Vučić said.
He added that “ Pristina, Tirana and Zagreb are working on a complex military system ,” and that Serbia is concerned about this development. “ We are preparing for defense from those who are openly threatening us ,” he said.
The meeting, according to him, also discussed how Serbia will continue the process of modernizing and arming the army. " There will be new investments in the military industry, as well as in food, water and ammunition reserves. Fuel supplies for the army are sufficient ," Vučić stressed.
He stated that within the next 18 months, Serbia's military capabilities will double, while human capacities will increase by a third. " We must rely only on ourselves. Even if someone from the region attacks us, no one will help us. No one from the great powers will attack us, but we must be ready for any scenario ," he said.
Vučić also stressed that Serbia does not seek conflict and preserves peace, but has sufficient capacities to deter any possible attack. " There is no direct threat at the moment, but our strength is greater than that of any potential aggressor ," he added.
Finally, he also touched on energy security, noting that the world is entering a new phase in terms of control of energy resources. " President Trump has established an Agency for American dominance in the energy field that operates under the White House. They are doing everything to eliminate competition, especially Russia and China ," the Serbian president declared.
