Any outcome can be expected from the hybrid civil war sparked by the MAGA movement in the United States, except one that would bring about an honest compromise between Trumpism and anti-Trumpism.
Such a compromise would not produce a peaceful two-faced America, but a fragile reality: a little mixed and a little racist, a little democratic and a little despotic, a little free and a little not, a little with the rule of law and a little with the rule of force.
Trump's "Mein Kampf" has declared objectives and a clear strategy to avenge the distortion of the ideal and the betrayal of American "blut und boden" (blood and soil).
Even when he seems to be delirious, and perhaps even when he is, Donald Trump does not overdo it. He says nothing different than what he would do if he could, and nothing less than what he will try to do anyway. There is no difference between his program and his propaganda, because propaganda is the program itself.
His verbal violence is a reflection of the material violence of his orders. Even his face is reflected in that of the thugs sent to terrorize and shoot in Minnesota and wherever there is rebellion against the voice of the master.
He aims for the final solution to the "Western question", that is, the Euro-Atlantic alliance, which, according to him, brings the US more burdens than benefits, robbing it of the fruits of greatness in favor of unworthy, small, and parasitic allies.
Trump seeks complete liberation from the "slavery" of the rule of law, open society, separation and limitation of powers, and international cooperation, elements that, according to him, weaken American power, trapping it in a web of unjustified obligations.
He aims to cleanse America of all immigrants, citizen or not, who are not descendants or imitators of the original immigrants, or who do not acknowledge their primacy.
But this logic runs counter to American demographic trends: in less than 20 years, non-Hispanic whites will be less than half the population, which makes it incompatible with democratic principle.
For MAGA America, everything that has been the basis of America's extraordinary success, from its control of the technological, economic, and cultural factors of global markets, is now seen as a mortal threat. The digital satraps who ride the wave of this uprising dream of benefiting from the omnipotence of a new empire, replacing soft power and the legal, economic, and civil ecosystem that is being destroyed.
However, in America there is still an institutional and social resistance to the exercise of purely authoritarian power. This resistance, although increasingly fragmented or paralyzed, relies on the system of “checks and balances”, conceived to prevent abuses, but not to neutralize a subversive in the White House.
The US is today not only the battlefield of a new American civil war, but also of a Western civil war. Trump wants to do to the West what Putin has been trying to do for more than a decade with Ukraine: turn it into a land of maneuver and conquest, a subjugated political reality, destroying its moral identity before its political one.
Even in its formats, Trump's hybrid war against the West resembles Putin's: the aim is not only to break the moral and material resistance of those attacked, spreading fear, confusion and distrust of the real ability to defend themselves against the overwhelming force of the aggressor.
It also aims to present aggression as a justified act, whose legitimacy, according to a distorted logic of justice, even the victims must recognize or even accept as a historical necessity.
The main objective is to convince European public opinion that this claim is based on a doctrine presented as rational and grounded in political reality. According to this discourse, peace and prosperity would be more secure by accepting the Kremlin's demands than by confronting it.
Similarly, Trump is not just seeking to extend US sovereignty wherever his military might reaches.
