Ukraine is running out of weapons. The country's President Volodymyr Zelensky said that air defense supplies are insufficient and that as of yesterday morning some systems were without missiles.
The problem was only resolved when the country received a military package during the day. Zelensky called on Ukraine's allies to ensure rapid deliveries of missiles, but this does not mean that winter will end soon for Ukraine or that the enemy will stop bombing.
The Ukrainian leader said that Kiev relies on its Western allies for several essential air defense systems, which, according to Zelensky, require constant supplies of missiles.
He criticized countries that have stockpiled such ammunition even though they are not at war, while in such a situation Ukraine definitely needs them.
Zelensky's comments came as a Ukrainian delegation meets with American counterparts in the United States over the weekend to discuss details of a plan for peace and security guarantees.
US President Donald Trump a few days ago emphasized his position that it is Zelensky who is obstructing the end of the war, while Washington's support for Ukraine has been wavering for a year.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian intelligence has information that Russia is preparing for a large-scale attack on the country.
Previous strikes earlier this year left Ukraine, and especially Kiev, in the middle of a freezing winter without electricity.
Schools in the capital will be closed until at least February, with temperatures dropping to -19 degrees Celsius.
A state of energy emergency has been declared across the country, with a particular focus on Kiev, where more than half of the capital's electricity needs are missing.
