US Vice President JD Vance will lead the American delegation to peace talks with Iran to be held in Pakistan, the White House announced.

According to spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt, Vance will be accompanied to Islamabad by special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, advisor and son-in-law to President Donald Trump.

Leavitt stressed that Vance has had an important role in this process from the beginning, describing him as a key figure in diplomatic discussions.

"He has played a very important and key role from the beginning. He is the president's right-hand man and has been involved in all these discussions," she stated.

According to the White House, Vance's participation in these talks aims to strengthen the US commitment to reaching an agreement with Iran through diplomatic negotiations.
