Trump praised Qatar as a "great ally" and urged Israel to be "very careful" after its attack on Doha, saying efforts against Hamas must be balanced.
US President Donald Trump has warned Benjamin Netanyahu about Qatar, a US ally. Speaking to reporters in New Jersey, Trump told reporters that the Israeli leader should be careful with Qatar.
"A message to Bibi Netanyahu? They need to be very, very careful. They need to do something about Hamas. But Qatar has been a great ally of the United States. Many don't know that.
I told the Emir, who I think is a wonderful person, really. I told him that they need better public relations, because they don't understand public relations very well.
"I mean, people talk a lot about them, and they shouldn't. Qatar has been a great ally, so Israel and everyone else, we have to be careful. When we attack people, we have to be careful," Trump said.

Trump administration seeks to organize new Israel-Qatar talks on Gaza
According to The Jerusalem Post, the Trump administration is holding a new round of talks with Israeli and Qatari officials in an effort to restart stalled negotiations on a deal to release the hostages.
Over the weekend, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani visited Washington, where he met with Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff.
According to two sources familiar with the talks, US officials stressed the need to "find a proper way" to restart negotiations.
Despite a recent Israeli airstrike on Doha, Qatar remains committed to its mediation role, Qatar's prime minister said upon his return to the Gulf state.
In May, it was announced that the Trump administration was preparing to acquire a Boeing 747-8 from the Qatari royal family.
The gift is intended to serve as U.S. President Donald Trump's new Air Force One plane until he leaves office, at which point, it will be donated to the Trump presidential library foundation, a source familiar with the deal told ABC News at the time.
