British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated that the United Kingdom will not deploy troops on Iranian territory, ruling out direct involvement in the conflict.
Asked by reporters on Monday whether sending British forces to the Middle East was being considered, Starmer replied: "This is not our war and we will not get involved in it."
He defended the British government's stance throughout the recent developments, stressing that the country is taking "defensive action" to protect "British lives, British interests and, of course, our allies in the region."
Along the same lines, Starmer added that the United Kingdom will continue to defend its interests and advocate for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key point for global energy transport.
