The alliance between Putin and Iran has become increasingly close in recent years. What the mullahs have in common: hatred of the US, the West and the way of life that seems normal to us in Europe.
Iran is bombing Israel, the world is holding its breath - and one person should be especially happy: Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
For him, the escalation is going exactly according to plan! Reason: Withdraws from its war in Ukraine - binds Western military forces.
"It is possible that the Kremlin has an interest in the conflict in the Middle East remaining unpredictable. This connects American forces and American money, which on the other hand is lacking in the defense of Ukraine", military expert Carlo Masala told BILD.
According to him, Russia was informed about Iranian intentions.
"Russia was certainly informed of Iranian intentions. Moscow would also have had the opportunity to influence Iran if this action conflicted with Russian interests. Russia has not done this", he said further.
The fact that Russia is behind the mullahs was also shown by Moscow's reaction to Iran's terror on Sunday. Although the Foreign Office formally called on "all parties" to show restraint on Sunday, it did not condemn the attack on Israel. On the contrary!
He also said Russia had long warned that unresolved conflicts in the Middle East - particularly with the Palestinians - would cause further tensions. Not to mention that it is Iran's militias (including Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis) that are surrounding Israel at its borders.
But the cynicism of the Russians went even further.
When Israel's ambassador to Russia criticized Russia's response, she was attacked head-on by Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Telegram.
"Can you remind me when Israel has condemned even one attack by the Kiev regime on Russian territories? I dont remember? I don't know either. But I remember regular statements in support of (Ukrainian President) Zelensky's actions by Israeli officials," she said at the time.

In addition, Iran and Russia are the protégés of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, who has killed hundreds of thousands of his countrymen and driven millions to flee to Europe. The mullahs had no objection when Putin intervened in the Syrian war in 2015 and thereby gained his sphere of power in the Middle East.
In March, Russia and Iran took their military cooperation to a whole new level. /Adapted from Pamphlet, taken from Bild
