IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari, in a press conference, emphasized that Hamas has committed war crimes in hospitals. He said the Islamic group hid and killed the Israeli hostages at al Shifa hospital.
"Hamas was hiding and killing our hostages in Shifa hospital. Hamas was building terrorist tunnels under the Shifa hospital,” Hagari said, adding that a hostage was held in Gaza City near al-Shifa hospital.
Hagari also showed a video where he claims that Hamas takes two hostages, both foreign nationals, inside al-Shifa. "We don't know where they are", he said, adding that the hospital was used as a "terrorist base".
Israel has stated that 1,200 people have been killed by the Hamas attack, while over 200 others are being held hostage.
While the Hamas health ministry has reported that the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks is over 13,000 and that 30,000 others have been injured in Gaza.
In its latest update on the death toll, the ministry said 13,000 people, including 5,500 children, had been killed since October 7.
