The Israeli military announced on Sunday evening that it had eliminated Iran's entire leadership team, as well as its close allies in the region, led by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to the announcement, these are 14 people, whose photos and positions were published by the Israeli authorities.
The statement said that, following the assassination of the Iranian supreme leader, the Israeli air force, "under the precise direction of the Military Intelligence Service and in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry," struck targets in Tehran, describing the operation as the culmination of an ongoing effort to eliminate the senior leadership of what Israel calls the "Iranian axis of terror" in the Middle East.
According to the Israeli military, those killed include:
-Ali Khamenei, supreme leader of Iran
-Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hezbollah
-Yahya Sinwar, leader of Hamas
-Muhammad Deif, commander of Hamas' military wing
-Muhammad al-Ghamari, Houthi chief of staff
-Ali Rashid, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters
-Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces
-Hossein Salami, commander of the Revolutionary Guard, as well as several other senior commanders of Iranian and allied security structures.
The Israeli military stated that these officials "have worked for decades to destroy the state of Israel" and accused them of involvement in the October 7 attack and other plots against Israel and the region.
According to the announcement, the operations were carried out on the basis of "accurate intelligence" and included a series of targeted strikes since the beginning of the war, including operations called "Am Kalvi" and "Northern Arrows".
Israel described the elimination of the senior figures as a "significant blow" to Iran and its allies, adding that it will continue to strike any element that, in its opinion, poses a threat to the security of the Israeli state.
