The heat wave "conquers" Europe again, a record in Spain

A record temperature of 46.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in the Spanish city of Valencia, which local residents described as "unbelievable".

The extreme heat made living conditions in this Mediterranean city very difficult and as one resident described, it is impossible to live in apartments.

"At night we turn on the air conditioner. During the day, we try to go out as late as possible and go to the beach," said another resident of this Spanish city.

The third heat wave of this summer is taking place in Spain. A red weather alert has been activated in eight areas around the cities of Valencia and Murcia, indicating an extreme risk of heat.

Six stations recorded temperatures above 44 degrees around Valencia and Castellón, while two areas around Seville and Granada, in Andalusia, exceeded this temperature last week.

Even Germans are expecting higher temperatures than they are used to, as large parts of the country will be warmer than usual this week, Bloomberg reported.

A red alert for extreme heat has been issued for today along the border with Switzerland, as well as in the city of Freiburg. Temperatures in Berlin will reach a maximum of 30.5 degrees on Tuesday, the Maxar report said.

Warmer than normal conditions are forecast this week, with anomalies present at times from Central to Eastern Europe.
