November 29, 1981 - Famous actress Natalie Wood is found drowned under mysterious circumstances.

Born Natalia Nikolaevna Zakarenko on July 20, 1938, in San Francisco, California, Wood began her acting career as a child. She became known for her role as Susan Walker, the little girl who doubts the existence of Santa Claus, in the 1947 film Miracle on 34th Street.

As a teenager, Wood played the role of James Dean's girlfriend in the film Rebel Without a Cause (1955), for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

She also earned Academy Award nominations for her performances in the films "Shining on the Grass" (1961) and "In Love with a Stranger" (1963). Her list of successes also includes participation in "West Side Story" (1961), winner of 10 Oscars, in which she played the lead role of Maria, as well as many other successful films.

Wood was married twice to actor Robert Wagner, first from 1957 to 1962, and then from 1974 until her death. On the evening of November 29, 1981, the actress was with her husband on their yacht, The Splendor, which was docked in St. Catalina near Los Angeles.

Also on board with them was actor Christopher Walken, who was filming the movie “Brainstorm” with Natali at the time. Neither Wagner nor Walken claim to have seen what happened to Wood that night.

Initially, investigators said the actress had accidentally slipped into the sea while untying a boat tied to the yacht. Her body was found in the early hours of the morning. But in 2011, the case was reopened due to new facts, which cast doubt on her husband Robert Wagner.

It is suspected that the latter killed him after a fierce fight for jealous reasons. Robert has repeatedly denied the accusations, but as he is now on the verge of death, at the age of 95, he has promised to tell the truth about that night in his final moments. Until then, the mystery continues.
