The killing of the leader of Hamas worries the families of the Israeli hostages: We do not know who will be punished for this elimination!

The families of Israeli hostages still being held in Gaza are torn between fear and optimism after the killing of the Hamas leader.

Some worry that militants holding their relatives may seek revenge for Yahya Sinwar's death, while others see his death as a chance to bring them home.

" We don't know who will be punished by this elimination, " said Eyal Kalderon, the cousin of Ofer Kalderon, who was captured on October 7, 2023.

Efrat Machikawa, the granddaughter of 80-year-old hostage Gadi Moses, said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu missed several opportunities for a deal.

"He has a chance to make sure that all the hostages are returned. This is a historic moment ," she said.

Around 250 hostages were taken by Hamas during its deadly raids in southern Israel, where around 1,200 people were killed. About 100 hostages are believed to remain in Gaza, a third of whom are thought to be dead./ SkyNews
