President Emmanuel Macron is going to Serbia to deliver France's nuclear waste. This is the suspicion raised by "Nova" media in Belgrade. The newspaper writes that the French president will also discuss with the Serbian leaders about Kosovo and integration into the European Union.
"Nova" points out that Paris has a problem with the disposal of nuclear waste and there is a theory that it could use Serbia for their disposal after signing the Memorandum of Understanding with the "French Electric Company".
This report has irritated members of the Serbian government, even President Aleksandar Vucic, who called the article "a brutal lie".
"It is nonsense against the interests of Serbia. Some are deliberately working against their country, to destroy it" , Vučič emphasized during an event.
The Serbian president said that the cooperation with the French Energy Company is to learn how it managed to provide France with more energy thanks to nuclear plants. Nova media's reporting comes just days before Macron arrives in Belgrade on August 29 for an official visit.
In his speech, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic confirmed for the first time that he met with the head of the American CIA, William Burns, a few days ago, and even revealed what he thought was not a secret.
"We had useful and good conversations. I laugh at those who say it was a secret visit," he said.
He then added that meetings with the heads of the secret services are never followed by statements and that there was an agreement with the Americans for this. "The topics were important for the future of our country. We had a useful, polite and important meeting", concludes Vucic.
