Secret Republican memo: Trump lost the elections in 2020, how will

Former President Donald Trump's team admitted the Republican lost two key battleground states in the 2020 election.

In a new confidential memo, Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio informed the Trump campaign on Friday that independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s decision to drop out of the race and support Trump is "good news" for Republicans.

But there was one clue that caught the attention of political observers. After calculating how Kennedy's withdrawal will affect Trump, Fabrizio — a veteran GOP pollster and longtime Trump ally — admits that Trump lost Arizona and Georgia in a showdown four years ago with Joe Biden.

Trump still hasn't conceded the 2020 election.

“To put these numbers into perspective, the net vote won in a state like Arizona based on just one 2020 turnout pattern would be over 41,000 votes, nearly 4 times the margin of victory for Biden or in Georgia, the gain would be over 19,000 votes, almost double Biden's," the memo says.

In the last presidential election, Biden turned Arizona and Georgia blue. In the past 72 years, only two Democratic presidential candidates, Bill Clinton and Harry Truman, have won Arizona in the general election. Biden's victory in Georgia was another big win for the Democratic Party, which had not won the southern state in nearly 30 years.

Fabrizio's note comes hours after Kennedy suspended his presidential campaign and threw his support behind Trump.

At a press conference from Arizona, the independent candidate said the "principled reasons" that led him to leave the Democratic Party and now support Trump were "free speech, the war in Ukraine and the war for our children."
