
A 34-year-old originally from Kosovo, resident in Aargau, Switzerland, has become a heroine after saving a little boy from drowning.
Nazlie Selimaj quickly intervened in a swimming pool in the canton of St. Gallen, after seeing an unconscious 4-year-old boy in urgent need of help. She lives in Fislisbach in the canton of Aargau, but last Sunday she had gone with her family to a swimming pool in Wil SG, after visiting her sister.
"We were very happy to spend the day in the sun at the pool." But then, shortly before 5:00 p.m., a dramatic event occurred. The boy was unconscious and the father was crushed." She immediately runs to the two of them, takes the child from the father and gives him first aid. "I grabbed the boy from behind. Then she laid the boy on the ground "because I couldn't find his pulse" and massaged his heart with one hand. The boy regained consciousness.
