It is not a coincidence that trials against traffickers, oligarchs or politicians and high officials are postponed due to a lack of lawyers, experts, prosecutors and judges for supposedly unexpected reasons, but in reality they are scenarios of preliminary negotiations between them, so that in every session someone is missing .
This is what has been happening since May 5, 2021, with the trial of the former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, accused of involvement in the tragedy of Gërdec, with two charges of "Abuse of duty", in cooperation as a civilian superior and with the leadership chain of the Headquarters General of the Army.
On May 24, 2023, the Special Court postponed for the fifth time the hearing against Fatmir Mediu, because the two defense lawyers were absent: one with the deception that he was sick with "Bed Regime", while the other seemed to have court proceedings in Durrës.
We have reliable information from sources within the court and the friendly group of lawyers, that the scenario has been made that the court session of June 7, 2023, will be postponed again for 2 weeks, postponing the submission of the claim of SPAK prosecutors.
One of the scenarios is the non-appearance of the lawyers again, inventing "objective reasons" on the day of the hearing, but also the request of the lawyers appointed mainly by the court, for allegedly in-depth knowledge of the file and "re-evaluation of procedural actions", or the absence from SPAK of court.
In fact, the trial has ended, claims must be submitted by SPAK and requests for "re-evaluation of procedural actions in the investigation and trial" are no longer accepted, but the black threads in justice want to postpone the trial indefinitely, in order to fabricate some circumstance of innocence for the former minister of Gërdec.
Based on the constitutional powers, the High Judicial Council, the High Inspectorate of Justice and the Ministry of Justice must react, so that on June 7 the 2-year delay of the trial for Fatmir Mediu will be put to an end.
