With the end of the election of Vangjel Tavos as the mayor of Himara, he hopes that this well that smelled like scat will finally be closed. Personally, I was against the candidacy of the Albanian mercenary Petraq Gjikura who came from the Greek-American lobby and the Greek Vangjel Tavo who came from Dropulli. Himara could be represented very well by other candidates from both the SP and DP, people who live there constantly, people who know first hand the problems of the residents and not through correspondence. But this Albanian political car, with the Greek machete at its head, is often forced to make silent agreements by choosing the lesser evil.
The voters of Himara this time had the candidacy of Vangjel Tavon, a balanced man, loyal to the Albanian state and the Greek minority. While the candidacy of the opposition DP, LRI, PBDNJ and OMONIA, was Petraq Gjikuria, a mercenary with anti-Albanian activities that had no connection with reality and looked like a UFO, who lives and works in the USA for many years.
The noise in the mayoral elections in Himara is driven by the Greek chauvinist circles which have in their program the Megalo Idea of 1844, and which feed the opinion in Greece for the annexation of the south of Albania, to save the Vorio-Epiriotas.
Significant terrorist activities are associated with Himara village and Dhërmiu, from these two villages are the founding members of the MAVI military group which works for the annexation of the south of Albania. After 1945, the main activists of MAVI were from the villages of Himara and Dhërmi from the Kokaveshi, Dhimaleksis, Bollano, Beleri, Kolila, Guma, etc. families. Those who after the 1990s started their anti-Albanian activities stepped forward without being afraid.
Serious provocations were made during the mayoral elections in Himarë in 2000 and 2003. In 2000, SP and PD teamed up with candidate Viktor Mato against PBDNJ candidate Vasil Bollano, who lost heavily. But there were provocations by Himariot extremist groups, strongly supported politically by the Greek government of PASOK Simitis. Foreign Minister Jorgos Papandreou made a provocative statement to the detriment of Albania's interests via satellite phone and speakerphone at the closing rally of the campaign, he said: Himariotes can win like all Greek national minorities in Dropull, etc., with the same identity ethnic Greeks
This was the first statement of a high functionary of the Greek government which clearly showed that the interests of Greece are to alienate the Albanian national identity of the Himariots in Greek. At this time, Greece officially addressed the international organizations of OSCE-ODIHR, EU, etc., that the Greek national minority lives in Himara and this should be recognized as an area of Greek influence.
Three years later on October 12, 2003, the elections in Himare were preceded by the provocations of dangerous people such as the jailer by profession, Fredi Beleri, the fisherman Angelo Kokaveshi, Koço Llazari, Vangjel Kolila, Sofika Rapo, etc., who violated the state's national symbols. For these acts, the Court of Vlora with number 224/24.9. 2004 and with number 302/26.12.2006, sentenced in absentia to 3 years in prison, but in fact none of them served a single day in prison, avoiding punishment with the help of Greece.
In this period, Greece pressured Prime Minister Fatos Nano to recognize the result of Vasil Bollano's victory as mayor of Himara. Due to the many pressures, the Albanian government remained silent and retreated.
In the 2007 elections, Vasil Bollano won another mandate as mayor of Himara, already having the support of the Berisha government.
In the fall of 2007, Vasil Bollano removed all the road signs that were in the Albanian language and placed the signs in the Albanian, Greek and English languages, committing a criminal offense.
In the indictment signed by prosecutor Sokol Malaj (criminal case No. 1214 of 2007), the head of the Himara Municipality is accused of the criminal offense of "abuse of duty", provided for by article 248 of the Penal Code. Attaching a series of evidence, documents and testimony (including the expertise of specialists for the value of the damage in 2.1 million ALL), the prosecution requested the trial of the criminal case No. 1214/2007, with the defendant citizen Vasillaq Bollano, accused of the crime of " abuse of duty", provided by article 248 of the Penal Code.

In the 2011 elections, Himari was won by Jorgo Gori, until 2023.
The plan to secure Greece through Fredi Beller, in 2015 they started the dirty game with the granting of Greek citizenships and 10-year residence permits in Greece to all those Albanians who would vote for OMONIA-PBDNJ candidates over the years. This is a vile method that stinks for an EU member country like Greece, exploiting the economic woes of the Albanians. Fredi Beleri for all his anti-Albanian activities was rewarded by Greece with the post of Greek MEP in the EU Assembly.
In conclusion, I want to believe that the long experience of Vangjel Tavos as a politician, minister, deputy and administrator will be successful in the realization of promises, especially in the matter of properties, roads and drinking water, elementary things that the Albanian voter enjoys and is eternally grateful for. .
As for the Greek anti-Albanian circles, we say to their mercenaries that they will always have us in front of Albania's territorial claims. Those threats of yours by SMS, email or Non Grata police decrees don't scare us, personally they don't bother me at all. Now Kokavesh, Kolilat, Dhimaleksi, Beleri, Bollano, Guma, etc., are stamped on their foreheads as anti-Albanians who have been harming Albania for years.
Albania is no longer the one of 1991, nor of 1997, nor of 2000, but of 2024, that in order to gain free movement with a Greek passport, there are also other paths such as Italian, German, American citizens, etc. Those Albanians who have decided to remain under the pressures of Greece should continue their lives there, but don't throw mud on their motherland because there are the graves and the honor of their grandparents.
