Will the Prime Minister go so far as to ask for the life of his former close associate, in exchange for closing the file?
It is completely unprecedented how the case of the former Deputy Prime Minister, Arben Ahmetaj, is being handled. Related to the scandal of the incinerators, although apparently he is only a small part of the puzzle of this theft, one of the biggest in the country, an arrest warrant has been issued for Arben Ahmetaj and after not being found in Albania, he was declared wanted .
But does this complete the picture and are these measures proving that SPAK is performing its duties properly?
The answer is "no"!
Because for the first time in the history of justice, in the case of Arben Ahmetaj, the person and not the case is being investigated. It can even be said that the suspect is being pursued and not the case at all. No matter how much it is a mega-scandal in which the culprits have a name, face and even an address, no matter how many people have signed for the same incinerators and the documents are there, SPAK continues to look for the trail, even though the wolf is ahead. ..
No one is dealing with the real protagonists.
The famous SPAK, beyond the spectacle with requests to remove the former minister's immunity, beyond the arrest order or the wanted announcement, is not carrying out the procedures as required by the laws of justice. SPAK is not investigating the case, but the individual.
And this, apart from scandal, is a dangerous precedent.
But maybe he would find a cure if that were the only problem.
The case of Arben Ahmetaj has deeply shaken the foundations of this government. The pressure from above for Ben to shut up is too strong. The voices in the corridors of the Prime Minister's Office say that Rama's former deputy ran away with spicy files and the messages he gave were clear.
A structured criminal group has been set up especially for this case and the same voices say that Arben Ahmetaj's life is also in danger.
This group, led by Edi Rama himself, has only one mission: to shut up the former minister and put a lid on the case. This is the reason that Arben Ahmetaj's roommate also left Albania a few days ago. With the child in her arms, she put the key to the house and left to save her life and be near her partner.
Meanwhile in Tirana, with such pressure, Edi Rama, already furious, is giving messages to his people.
The game is clear: when such a hunt is made for Arben Ahmetaj, for whom no convincing or incontrovertible evidence of his direct connection with the incinerators has been found to date, one can only guess what might happen to them. that the firms have black and white in this mega theft.
However, this is internal management and Bablok has proven that he is very good at throwing his associates into the fire for life.
Currently, the problem is with Arben Ahmetaj and what he knows.
