Today, the two-year war in Ukraine has reached a rather large stalemate. A Gordian knot that is involving all of Europe, at least, since it was Europe that gave everything for Ukraine's victory in the war with Russia.
Militarily, the situation is in favor of Russia, both tactically and strategically.
Tactically, the Russian troops have continuously advanced from their positions, and today they are close to what is called the European red line, which is the Dnieper River.
From the strategic side, Russia has managed to provide a record replacement both for the effectives that are damaged (killed or wounded at the front), and what is most important, the replacement of the ammunition that is spent in the war.
Russia's war industry has been a Swiss watch, while Ukraine, even though it has the help of the whole West, does not manage to get in time the amount of ammunition it consumes in daily combat operations. Add here the advancement or better the preservation of Russian positions in the Black Sea. All this has increased even more the doubt that Putin should be negotiated. In fact, in the US Congress is still 'hostage' a decree of President Biden to finance the war in Ukraine. Plus Putin's interview with Tucker Carlson, which has caused a bigger stir than 2016.
But how can the West negotiate today with Vladimir Putin, who a few days after the interview with Tucker Carlson, killed Alexei Navalny?
If he does it is a sign of capitulation, and Putin killed Navalny as seen in a prisoner exchange, precisely to increase the bargain. A bargain that humiliates Western democratic values, which are in antagonism with those of Russia and its current boss - China.
Which, in a way, is the big director of this whole game, along with the US. The world today is bi-polar, so even Germany and France have turned into 'puppets' in the hands of America.
In this international framework, the Balkans, which has been like this from time to time, comes today as a theater of war or a clash of two great powers.
Russia, and above all China, is trying to hold Serbia firmly.
The US, through Ambassador Chris Hill, has managed to keep Belgrade as far away from the Kremlin as possible, but not from Beijing. Where Aleksandër Vučić not only goes every two months, but as Enver Hoxha used to weave poems about Mao Zedong, so the Serbian President is behaving with Xi Jinping.
The Balkans are in this situation today; Its 2/3 controlling US has decided to return to a border war with Russia.
In Albania, they will be trained, but it is also likely that American planes will go to what is today Russia and yesterday Ukraine. So Donbass or Crimea.
And Zelensky comes here, to a new military base, which he will inaugurate himself together with his senior generals.
A three-day visit by Zelensky, the man who today lost a war with Russia, but on the other hand managed to make 92 percent of Ukrainians still want to fight, is the West's greatest achievement. Regarding the USA and Great Britain, which consider Albania as Cyprus or Egypt of the Second World War. From where the most important missions to conquer Italy and free Greece from the German Nazis are launched.
But Egypt and Cyprus, even though they have been close allies of the British and Americans, have been involved in such great upheavals that Cyprus was divided and Egypt has only chaos and poverty today.
