In Green Coast, the ceremony for the delivery of the Blue Flag, the most prestigious international certification, took place this weekend, which for the first time places the Green Coast beach in Albania among the 5036 cleanest beaches on the global map.
In the evening held on this occasion, the administrator of Green Coast, Armando Alicanaj, emphasized that this assessment further increases the company's responsibilities to offer other standards.
"For us, holding this certification is a major event, a precious moment where we can enjoy the reward of what we have wanted to inject in recent years into the tourism industry with our projects. But this certification also puts us in front of new responsibilities in maintaining the standards that we have long established in the resort. It is precisely these standards that have turned Green Coast into the most favorite place to relax. We are happy that this year we are welcoming a higher number of vacationers from all countries of the world".
Further, he also focused on the importance of certification and the rigorous steps that this entire certification process has followed.
Green Coast has worked for about 3 years to meet every criteria required by the "Foundation for Environmental Education" based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Water quality is the first criterion, but not the only one. During this time, Green Coast has successfully met 33 other criteria, which are related to the services offered, access and especially guaranteed access of people with different needs to the beach, safety of the area and that of vacationers, management and conservation of surrounding environment etc.

We are happy that this year we are welcoming a much higher percentage of domestic and foreign tourists to our resort, who already have an extra motivation to rest on the Green Coast, the place with crystal clear waters.

While the representative of Blue Flag in Albania, Eni Metaj, focused on the long and rigorous process to which the Green Coast certification has been subjected, stressing that this is the most prestigious assessment in the world.
Since its conception, the constant commitment to every detail has turned the Green Coast resort into a reference point of Premium and elite standards that Albania offers in the tourism sector. Blue Flag certification has begun to have its first impact on the increased demand for bookings from foreign tourists.
Thanks to all these standards and the vision in building elite tourism on the Albanian Riviera, Green Coast competes in a dignified manner with its peers in the countries of the region.
There are currently around 51 participating countries around the world that have been certified by Blue Flag such as Spain, Greece, France, Italy, Turkey, which are known for tourism and the highest standards of tourism.
