After SPAK's request for the arrest of Arben Ahmetaj, there are two important news for the public. The first is that of the six accusations of SPAK against Ahmetaj, there is no direct accusation related to the incinerators, or his concrete role in the proceedings, but there are detailed investigations based on suspicions that some of the properties benefited by Ahmetaj are gifts of two of the owners of the incinerators, Mërtiri and Zoto.
The file that is going to court is a detailed investigation of Arben Ahmetaj's assets, even a brave work in terms of patience and raised hypotheses, which should stand up in court.
The second development is the reaction of the opposition to the request for arrest, which actually asks Ahmetaj to talk about the procedures of the incinerators, in the hope that this will reach Edi Rama.

It is perhaps the most tragico-comic request I have heard from any opposition, which no longer takes a position on the accusation, but begs the accused to help them in their plight.
The bitter truth is that most of the prosecution's evidence about the connection of some of Ahmetaj's properties with the owners of the incinerators have willingly flowed from the owners themselves, Mertiri and Zoto, who are known to be publicly at war with Ahmetaj since at least 2019. This, of course, has led SPAK to go into detailed investigations and raise hypotheses that require a lot of evidence to stand up in court.
So in this case we have a pair of "repentants", who seem to be invested in implicating Ahmetaj as their collaborator, making connections between some of Ahmetaj's properties and their role in their benefit.
But if the investigation against Arben Ahmetaj started as an investigation for his role in the incinerator concession contracts, and ended in a property investigation against Arben Ahmetaj, we have an anomaly. Either he has no role in the contracts, or they are not the subject of investigation.
As for assets, we have seen salary slips with 240,000 euros per month and no one was surprised and did not take it as an indication. It is a monthly salary equal to Ahmetaj's two assets, which are thought to have come from Zoto e Mërtiri.
