Wrongful attacks against Gazment Bardhi

If you squeeze all the accusations against Bardhi, it turns out that his critics within the DP accuse Bardhi of not always being Berisha's servile, except this time when he took the post of chairman of the Parliamentary Group from them.

Gazment Bardhi has been subjected to a barrage of attacks by his critics within the Democratic Party, under the reasoning that Berisha made a mistake by choosing him as the head of the Parliamentary Group, due to his past as a harsh critic of Berisha. Everyone reminds him of having called Berisha “Zen’s Dad” (a paraphrase of an editorial of mine about the former Prime Minister’s exploits in favor of his son), and further, the events of January 8, the battles in the Assembly against Berisha, etc.

If you squeeze all the accusations against Bardhi, it turns out that his critics within the DP accuse Bardhi of not always being Berisha's servile, except this time when he took the post of chairman of the Parliamentary Group from them.

Seen this way, criticisms of Bardhi are praise. They are even praise for Berisha.

First, if Bardhi, with all this past criticism of Berisha, has imposed himself on Berisha as a critic he could not stand but instead brought him into his ranks by rewarding him, then he should become an inspirational model in the DP for how to win positions and how to achieve a career. So, if you really think that Berisha has been brought to his knees by Bardhi because of his harsh language and courage to make personal attacks, then he is not to be despised, but to be praised. In politics, achievements that are gained through personal battles are appreciated, not anathema.

Gazment Bardhi has fought his personal battles, has pulled other MPs behind him and has imposed himself on Berisha with numbers. It's that simple. If you accuse him of bringing Berisha to his knees, you are erecting a tombstone for him.

On the other hand, if you criticize Berisha for being broken in front of Bardhi, then you are creating a democratic image for Berisha, as a man who accepts the war within the party and coexists with his enemies, despite the bitter experience with Lulzim Basha who threw him out by taking all the soldiers. So you criticize him in vain, for not rewarding the democrats and for destroying the party.

The truth is not as brilliant as the attacks on Gazment Bardhi make it out to be, and his peace with Berisha is not as fatal as his critics portray it to be.

Berisha's peace with Bardhi and the deputies he led behind Berisha in the Assembly hall is an act of surrender and helplessness by Berisha that proves that Berisha is completely powerless to wage real battles, whether for the democratization of the DP or for its reform. He is a surrendered old man who wants to hold the keys to the DP for his own troubles and is ready to pave the way for anyone who seems unable to face the battle with him. The fact that Gazment Bardhi, forgiving even of Basha's mistakes, managed to take Basha's entire remaining group and lead him to Berisha in his worst days, is of course a political merit and a clue to understanding Berisha's powerlessness and his surrender.

Berisha did not accept Gazment Bardhi because he is a democrat, but because abandoned as he was, he had to tell the democrats that he was uniting them. He did it simply to lie to them. And it is not that he has united them. He has only united his group with Lulzim Basha's group, without Lulzim Basha. The rest is as it was, and democracy within the party and the lack of rules remain bleak, while the keys are still in his hand.

Gazment Bardhi has only one merit in his battle: that he has revealed Berisha's real powerlessness to face the internal war in the DP. And not only has he revealed it, but he has proven that you can succeed by doing battle with him. From the very first day as chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, he took an anti-sovereign action: he wrote a letter to all Western diplomats in Tirana complaining about the division of committees within the parliament, an act that breaks Berisha's sovereign policy in the DP against the West.

Now don't bother Berisha, reminding him daily with attacks against Gazment Bardhi, his powerlessness, that he will be more angry with you than Gazment Bardhi. If you want to fight him, you have an example of how to win.
