The blame stops here.

Shkruar nga Irena Beqiraj

The blame stops here.

When a leader tolerates mediocrity, favors incompetence, servility, corruption, all of these become rules and then culture in the group, in the party, in the nation...

Abraham Lincoln kept a phrase on his desk that read, “The blame stops there.” These three words captured the essence of accountability and responsibility in a leader. They meant that despite the challenges that arose, the mistakes that were made, and the successes that were achieved, the leader ultimately held the responsibility.

The state, institutions can flourish or collapse based on this principle.

Culture is the invisible glue that binds any human group together. It dictates how people interact, how they solve problems, and how they pursue goals.

But culture is not built in a vacuum, it flows directly from leadership. A leader sets its framework, whether consciously or unconsciously. The leader, whether through daily decisions or silent signals, becomes the point of reference for "the way things are done around here."

When a leader tolerates mediocrity, favors incompetence, servility, corruption, all of these become rules and then culture in the group, in the party, in the nation.

The phrase "The blame stops here" is more than a slogan, it is a philosophy. It explains why the Silvas, full of empty words, jump from one party to another without the political grave of the first leader drying up, it explains the headless fly-like shriveling of the opposition front, it explains the endemic corruption, the criminalization of the economy like never before.

It explains the polarization, the lack of hope and even faith.

The blame rests on the tables of leaders who, in search of power beyond economic dominance, attempt to shape perceptions, define reality, and, worse, control thought itself.

But a lie never becomes truth, wrong never becomes right, and evil never becomes good, just because it is accepted by the majority.

Because the truth does not change according to the ability of leaders to cope with and manipulate it.
