The leaders have hidden this situation from the eyes of the public for years, one after the other, until the truth has come out the window and is screaming.
This is the National Library.
The hall on the 1st floor (not the semi-underground one) today resembles a large warehouse, full of banana crates. They don't have bananas in them, not even that white stuff that those bananas have when they come from Ecuador.
They have books, yes books!
After the shelves, warehouses, corridors, bags, every possible corner have been filled, the books have also been stuffed into banana crates, which have also been placed in what used to be the press reading room and the file and service room.
The leaders have hidden this situation from the eyes of the public for years, one after the other, until the truth has come out the window and is screaming.
What is still left of the National Library is the Science Hall one floor above, where the parquet is half rotten and the chairs stick in your hand if you move them.
There is no functional cultural institution left with the surname National.
