Geri Kokalari: The truth behind Agim Nesho's article on "Fox

Albanian-American activist Geri Kokalari has written an article regarding Agim Nesho's article on "Fox News." He tells the truth of this article, focusing on Agim Nesho's past and how millions were thrown at American television.

I found Agim Nesho's article on Fox News about "Ramaduron" 'very interesting', especially considering the media outlet where it was published and the author's background.

This article reminded me of the “CIA Director for Albanian Communist Party Officials,” mentioned in the attached pages. In particular, I was reminded of Gaqo Nesho, a prominent communist functionary who held the following positions: Deputy of the People’s Assembly for Vlora; Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee; Member of the Central Control and Audit Committee; and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the People’s Council for the Tirana district. A truly excellent biography! Anyone who knows Albania understands that no one rose to these levels without the explicit blessing of Comrade Enver Hoxha, the country’s “Supreme Leader.”

Which makes it even more ironic that someone with such a “honorable” communist heritage, Agim Nesho, the son of Gaqo “the smuggler” Nesho, would collaborate to publish in a right-wing and anti-communist media outlet like Fox News. Hard to believe that “Gaqo Junior” mentioned his family history to Fox editors. Does the apple fall far from the tree?

But how did “Gaqo Juniori” end up on Fox News? One possible explanation: Fatmir Mediu and Sali “Enver” Berisha both hired Chris LaCivita as a political consultant and reportedly paid him well for his services.

Behind the scenes, it seems they may have used LaCivita's connections to get Nesho's piece on Fox. If true, it would mean that the son of a high-ranking communist official has found his voice in a right-wing, anti-communist American media outlet, thanks to a paid Republican operative and an Albanian politician who was also a follower of Enver Hoxha. Coincidence?

Speaking of Fatmir Mediu, I heard that he recently convinced six American congressmen to provide written testimony to the Albanian Ministry of Justice. It would be interesting to know the names of these congressmen.

I wonder if Fatmir mentioned to you that he was Minister of Defense when the Albanian government was involved in a scheme to defraud the US Department of Defense by selling it $300 million in illegal Chinese ammunition. https://www.govexec.com/oversight/2008/06/feds-charge-22-year-old-pentagon-contractor-with-procurement-fraud/27121/

An excerpt from this article by “The Government Executive” describes Mediu’s role in this scandal as follows:

On the eve of the hearing, the (Congressional) Oversight Committee released State Department documents, interview notes and emails suggesting that the U.S. ambassador to Albania was trying to cover up the Chinese origin of AEY munitions. Maj. Larry Harrison, chief of the embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation, told committee investigators that senior Albanian officials, including former Defense Secretary Fatmir Mediu, were concerned about a November 2007 visit by a New York Times reporter to an AEY packaging facility in Tirana. Mediu was reportedly concerned that the Times would document corruption in the Albanian Defense Ministry. Prosecutors allege that AEY officials were removing Chinese munitions from their original packaging at the airport before shipping them to Afghanistan. Harrison hastily arranged a late-night meeting with Mediu, U.S. Ambassador John Withers II, Stephen Cristina – the embassy’s deputy chief of mission – and Patrick Leonard, a security officer. In During the meeting, Harrison reportedly suggested that Mediu not allow journalists into the packaging facility, but the defense minister had other ideas. Mediu called the commanding general of the Albanian military forces and asked him to remove all the boxes of Chinese ammunition from the facility, so that "there would be nothing for journalists to see," Harrison said.

Withers reportedly agreed to the move, suggesting it would help “allay suspicions of wrongdoing,” according to Harrison. Harrison told investigators he disagreed with Mediu’s decision and was “very troubled” by the meeting. At the time, AEY was already under federal investigation for illegal Chinese arms trafficking. In March 2008, just a week before the military suspended AEY from contracts, Mediu resigned. Media reports have suggested that Mediu took bribes from AEY, and the Albanian Attorney General’s Office has charged him with “abuse of office and improper gain .”

All of this brings to mind the old question: Can a leopard change its spots? / Pamphlet
