Meta does not want the Albanians to be factored in, because they support the Americans and Europeans.
In North Macedonia, there are few Albanians who understand that every time there are elections there, Ilir Meta supports the Macedonian Slavic nationalist party. While Albin Kurti has been trying to lose Ali Ahmeti for years, Ilir Meta wants to win VRMO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski's party, which today lives in exile in Orban's Hungary. Where he fled from Albania, helped logistically by President Ilir Meta.
Today in North Macedonia, there are two pairs of elections, presidential, which are in two rounds, and parliamentary. For the president, they are majority and for Parliament, they are regionally proportional. On April 24 is the first round of presidential elections and on May 8 the second round of presidential and parliamentary elections.
In these elections, the Macedonian nationalist party which was led by Nikola Gruevski, but which today is led by Hristo Mickovski, is campaigning openly against the power of Albanians in the institutions. Who today have the Prime Minister of Macedonia, the Special Chief Prosecutor of Macedonia, the majority of the government and of course a greater power in the country.
The current president Stevo Pendarovski of the Social Democratic League, the candidate of VRMO-DPMNE, Gordana Siljanovska, the leftist candidate Stevço Jakimovski, who aims to get Pendarovski's leftist votes, as well as the two Albanian candidates Bujar Osmani and Arben Taravari, appear in the presidential elections.
The chances are that the two candidates who competed four years ago in 2019, i.e. Pendarovski and Silijanovska, will appear in the second round. Pendarovski won because he got the votes of the Albanians.
This time, the chances are that VRMO-DPMNE will win a large majority so that it does not need the votes of the Albanians, and this can be ensured by the disintegration of Zaev's SDSM, which today is led by Kovacevski.
Zaev, who left two years ago, after feeling abandoned, tried to form a Macedonian coalition against the Albanians.
Ali Ahmeti, the strongest Albanian politician in North Macedonia, responded to this effort with a strong maneuver. He has united most of the Albanian, Roma, Bosnian, Turkish and Bosnian parties in the great European Front coalition, which has nominated Bujar Osmani, the foreign minister of North Macedonia.
With this coalition, Ahmeti, who has opened seats for deputies to all allied parties, aims to get at least 30 deputies, to stop VRMO from getting a majority of 61 deputies.
In this configuration, the Albanian coalition Vlen includes the mayor of the municipality of Gostivar, Arben Taravari, the mayor of Tetova, who is the leader of the Besa movement, a religious party close to Erdogan, Bilall Kasami and the former vice-president of Ali Ahmet's party, who left after not approached the government, aims to topple the hegemony of Ali Ahmeti's DUI in the Albanian territory.
In the local elections two years ago, Taravari and Kasami won thanks to the support of VRMO-DMNE. This coalition is openly supported by Albin Kurti, who so far has not even met the first Albanian Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Telat Xhaferi, representative of Ali Ahmeti's DUI.
Meanwhile, Ilir Meta goes further and supports the political enemies of the Albanian coalition, considering it a good one for North Macedonia.
And what would be good for Albanians if VRMO-DPMNE wins? Ilir Meta does not talk at all about the persecution of Albanians under this government, but talks about cows and calves.
Here's what Meta wrote after the meeting with Mickovski: "Let's not forget that her vision and policies in governance transformed North Macedonia, the 10th country in the world and 5th in Europe for business climate and foreign investments. Thanks to the vision of VMRO-DPMNE, North Macedonia exploded for the growth of agriculture and livestock, starting with 10 million euros in funding per year and increasing it to 200 million euros. The new team of VMRO-DPMNE, I believe, has learned enough from the mistakes made in the past and the consequences of nepotism, which eclipsed the remarkable economic and social achievements.
North Macedonia will continue to walk safely on the Euro-Atlantic road and once again the Albanians will be the key guarantee for this!"
In 2017, Ilir Meta not only supported Nikola Gruevski, but tried to divide the Albanian factor there, which he failed to do. But today the situation is even worse. If in 2017 Meta had Mendu Thaçin as an ally, today the latter is with the European Front coalition.
Then why doesn't Meta let the voters in North Macedonia choose what they want, but openly announces support for the real political enemy of the Albanians?
The answer comes naturally: Meta does not want the Albanians to be factored in, because they support the Americans and Europeans.
In North Macedonia, an electorate has opened up against the USA and the West, and open for Russia, as there is in Serbia and Montenegro. But Macedonian Albanians, together with other nationalities, are waging a political battle against them.
Ilir Meta, today he came out against this coalition, but tomorrow he will say, if thanks to his attitude, the Albanians can be more defactored? The chances are that Ilir Meta will not have any impact on the elections there, even though VRMO has been using it for weeks. Meanwhile, Meta in 2017 did not openly support the Macedonian nationalists, today it is doing so. This is really a clear political development, which should and will be noted in the political stance of the Albanian parties.
