These are strong messages given in a few days by Meta, who has 'shaken hands' with Kryemadhi and Berisha, warning of other movements, just a year before the elections. These are attitudes that sink the opposition even more, but also constitute a mystery as to where Ilir Meta will reach with these moves.
Ilir Meta, the leader of the Freedom Party, has started a 'saga' of distancing himself from his colleagues, but also from his closest allies. These types of distances are distinct on paper at least.
In the beginning, it was the former chairman of LSI, predecessor of PL, and his wife Monika Kryemadhi who was put in the 'target' of Meta.
In several public appearances, after the confiscation by SPAK of a cell phone of Monika Kryemadhi found in her mother's apartment, for which the removal of the seizure was requested in the institutions of justice, the testimony of Monika's mother in SPAK as well as of BKH's 'visit' to the offices of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta has stated that he is not responsible for anyone in relation to the law, except for himself. Not even for his children, who are over 18 years old, and for this he has made a firm statement.
It has been clearly stated in the eyes of the entire Meta public, in statements to the media, day after day, accompanied by several movements within the Freedom Party, where the media report that there have been numerous purges of Kryemadhi's supporters. Only Vasili is left, they say, although they call him completely harmless, so no one moves him.
So there is a strong political distancing of Meta from Kryemadhi, expressed by the latter in the parliamentary session for the discussion of Xhaçka's mandate, with the statement that "I regret that we women become meat for men". Why is the former chairperson of LSI and deputy of PL Kryemadhi speaking? What does she warn, as she is also Ilir Meta's wife, in addition to being a politician.
But Meta's statements about a complete Reestablishment of the Freedom Party and an end to arrogant behavior with the party have really caused a strong 'earthquake' in this party and have conveyed the feeling of a complete distancing of Meta from the leadership of old of this party when Kryemadhi was in charge, as well as with Kryemadhi himself. As much as the number two of the PL, Braimllari indirectly described the accusations against the leadership of the party for arrogance from Meta as 'nonsense'.
Taking all this together, including the fact that the contract with the American company for LSI lobbying in the USA apparently has Petri Vasili's signature, despite the fact that Meta was the chairman of this party, as well as Kryemadhi's 'complaint' in between of the Assembly hall that they are becoming meat for men, but Meta's complete distancing from all those close to him, including children over 18 years old in relation to the law, shows that the head of PL and the former president of the country is seeks to appear as a politician who has no responsibility in relation to the law.
At the same time, it can also be taken as a message for SPAK regarding the investigations it is conducting on his person, presenting himself as a politician who has decided to be responsible only for himself and no one else in relation to the law. Despite his coded message through statements that he does not bear responsibility, Meta has not failed to attack the highest institution of investigation in Albania.
"One thing I must know, SPAK that I will not tell them nonsense, PL is not seized. SPAK can be seized in advance, but PL is not seized. Let them investigate the reports we made, otherwise the consequences for them will be fatal", declared Meta on Saturday. How to 'round up' the message for SPAK that it is only responsible for itself. But on the other hand, apart from the reports in the Freedom Party, for which he has warned of a complete 'shake-up' and a real Re-establishment, the messages of Saturday, the following and the other days, have also been about the pulpit and the ally of his only Sali Berisha. And the head of the Pulpit has problems with SPAK, since due to accusations of passive corruption and violation of the decision of the Special Court, he has been under house arrest since December last year. Without mentioning here the other accusations against "Gërdec". "January 21", the CEZ-DIA affair and other accusations of this type, which can only change the destination from home to cell, without having any chance to be released from arrest in the future. It is also 'non grata' in the USA and Britain.
Following the political accusations that blame Kryemadhi together with Basha for the burning of the mandates, the boycott of the local elections of June 30, 2019 but also the result of the 2021 elections, warning of a complete re-establishment of PL and shaking of the party that leads, Meta has also distanced himself strongly from Berisha as he has declared that the "Together We Win" coalition between Reestablishment and the Freedom Party set up for the local elections of May 14, 2023 has not worked. So it won't be done this way anymore, that's the word.
For the first time, Meta raised the finger of political accusation against those who can now be called his former allies in the house of freedom. After almost a year, he accepted the deep defeat in the local elections, leaving the responsibility to joint candidates, mainly selected by Berisha.
"In the last local elections, when even a part of the DP representatives were worried why I was coming to support the joint candidate, that she had no chance of winning, instead of everyone uniting for the victory of the opposition here. We saw this in Fier when I went to visit the joint candidate's headquarters, which was bigger than Donald Trump's and where the door was closed. We saw this everywhere. The 'Together We Win' coalition did not work. If it had worked, he would have won. The fact that the 'Together We Win' coalition did not win showed that it did not work. The municipal council also shows it. The local opposition is here where doomsday is calling," Meta declared literally.
So there will be no more coalition with Berisha under these conditions. Or will Meta himself select the candidates for deputies, it is understood that more than half of the winning list will be candidates from PL, if Reestablishment enters the election under the banner of the Freedom Party, to do what we have often repeated that we know how to do. better Meta in these cases, to 'remove Berisha's scalp'. So it puts pressure on him for the leadership of the opposition. Perhaps it 'adds' another message for SPAK with this distancing from Berisha, who is 'head and foot' under the investigation of the highest institution of new justice.
