The toxic polarization of televisions, the environment that was lost on May 11th

It is time to speak with arguments, even if they may be arguments for one or the other, against one or the other.

Albania is not the only country where there is such a polarized and toxic environment on television panels, which absurdly are not only at dinner, but start in the morning, continue at lunch, and even in the afternoon, to reach their peak at dinner.

Where do you see analysts saying the most horrible and harsh words to each other, just because they disagree on political issues in the country.

The US has been sowing this toxic poison in the media environment since 2016, but first of all, the US has a normal and classic reporting media, and it is a very large country, where there is space and opportunity for all types of debate genres, media, or even ways of doing politics.

Even in Kosovo, a large portion of analysts and television media are strong critics of Albin Kurti, who actually campaigned more against analysts and critical television owners than against the opposition.

In our case, this environment of a terrible marathon of cacophony injected with politics had a purpose. To keep the country going with 24-hour causes, which were then inflated for political debate until the next elections. The dinner panels, as well as the agenda, but also the guests were ordered by the strategists of Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta, with the aim of overthrowing Edi Rama, but also of blowing up the criminal cases against them.

Today we are at a stage where Sali Berisha, Ilir Meta, and many of the majority politicians are under indictment by SPAK. The parliamentary elections ended with an almost constitutional majority for Edi Rama, so the game of all these years of permanent strife makes no sense.

In fact, in all likelihood, it has only created one effect: electrifying and charging the militants, while the gray electorate has voted for the lesser evil. Plus the sale by the DP and the crumbling like a sandcastle of the LSI and the former LSI.

We are at a stage where the game must be played differently, as this scenario has only harmed the opposition. Of course, the majority also had its flaws, but it still won the elections.

The panels promoting characters who want to attack the American embassy, to place TNT in the towers of Tirana, and not calm characters like Ilir Alimehmeti, for example, have been a murder for the most qualitative and prepared elements that exist today, even in the group that has joined Sali Berisha.

It is high time to speak with arguments, even though they may be arguments for one or the other, against one or the other. But let there be arguments and not insults, not polarization; the good on one side and the bad on the other.

In North Macedonia, both Albanian-language and Macedonian-language televisions have political shows where there are plenty of debates and interviews. But you never see the tension that actually exists between the Albanian parties in government with VRMO-DPMNE and those in opposition in the territory and on social networks. This very climate has also had a significant impact on reducing hate speech on the networks. This is how the political change happened, just as the expected change is happening again in the local elections that are being held soon.
